About the Owner
Tyler started djing at the young age of 15. In his own words " I grew up in an incredible church where we would have lock-ins twice a year. We would essentially stay up all night and play music until the minister decided that it was time to shut it down. This was usually around 3am. My great friend Justin would bring in his home sound system and we would play tape to tape. While one tape was playing, I would be on the small boom box with head phones finding the song on the next tape that we would want to play. We would go back and fourth like this for hours and I remember we had a strict ' no country, no hootie' policy. It's amazing that we were able to operate without a mixer or an amplifier and achieve the sound that we did."
From there, Tyler would get invited to play fraternity parties while he was still in high school. In College, he reached a wider audience running his own radio show in Georgetown Ky. "Shadow Douglas" as he was known then, would give away snapple and whip cream from the cafeteria to the right caller. Don't ask how he obtained those prizes!
Upon returning to Northern Kentucky, fortune found Tyler in the form of a halloween party. The DJ that NKU hired was having some back issues so Tyler offered to help carry his equipment once the event was over. The DJ appreciated the gesture and offered to train Tyler on real DJ equipment. " I will forever be grateful to Mike Manzi for the opportunity that he gave me". Tyler spent the next two years working for Mike the Magician Manzi learning his craft and saving money to buy his own system. Time of Your Life Productions was started soon after, and the rest they say is history.
Tyler has performed over 300 weddings, performed for the military, and has had the honor of playing for anniversaries, wakes ( yes the celebration after the funeral) and several other events. You can hear him djing from time to time at Bobby Mackeys and filling in for the Florence Freedom running P.A. and sound tech. " I've been blessed to make my love my profession and am thankful for all the great people I have met over the years. I look forward to many more years of evolving with the business and helping people with their wedding needs".
- Tyler Lucas
I've had the honor of meeting so many great people and experiencing some wonderful moments during this awesome ride. I'd like to share them with you and if you happen to have any memories from our events that you would like for me to post, feel free to contact me.
1. DJing a frat party and a 50th wedding anniversary at the same place at the same time. Started as a frat party but the brothers invited the couple from the room next door to celebrate their anniversary with music. I played "Too Young" from Nat King Cole which is the song they danced to at their original wedding.
2. DJing the homecoming for the troops in Ft. Thomas. It was really neat to see families get together after being separated for months and sometimes years.
3. DJing the final school dance at Highland Heights Elementary. They closed after 75 years of service.
4. The first dance ever at Crossroads Elementary
5. Dixie Prom at Receptions in Florence. The room opened up and I played for 500 plus high school students.
