I'm going to use this space to discuss my favorite reception halls that I've DJ'd in. I look for several things before reccomending reception halls on my website. Size is huge, when it comes to booking a reception hall, quantity is more important than quality. I know it sounds backwards but it doesn't matter how great the reception hall looks if it only holds 25 people. If you have a reception hall with size, you can always decorate to make it look better. I also look at the staff. As a DJ I get to see how the staff work with vendors and I get a feel for their personality behind the scenes. I only reccomend places that have a staff that is friendly to the DJ as well as the caterer, as well as the guests. Price is always going to be a factor but if the first two indicators check out, it will be worth the price. With all that being said, these are what I consider to be the best reception halls that I've worked in the past ten years.

 1.Stonewood Gardens - http://www.swgardens.com

Nestled in the Heart of Falmouth Ky, Stonewood Gardens is one of those reception halls that is completely worth the drive. It definitely meets the space requirements as I'm quite sure they could store an airbus if they wanted to. They also have versatility that most places do not. For example, you could have your wedding outside in their outdoor chapel or inside. Their rates are very affordable as you will see them listed on their website. Tammy, the owner has worked with me on several weddings at their site so tell her that Tyler sent you. I can assure you that you will have a great experience.

2. St. Cecilia's - Independence KY- 859-363-4311

 This place is HUGE!!!! Big indicator. It can easily hold 300 and I'm guessing closer to 400. The staff was very friendly to me, the caterer, and the 300 plus guests who were there. My mother, who happened to be in attendance at one of the weddings I was working said that the bartenders treated her like gold. To me it doesn't get much better than that when the staff is just as respectful to its vendors as it is to its guests. I have no reservations about booking with St. Cecilia's.   3. Bellevue Vets - Bellevue Ky

Easy to get in and out of, Very friendly staff and definitely big enough to hold most wedding receptions. To me it's one of those hidden gems because veteran halls don't really go out of their way to promote their services. The Briarwood reception center has been taken over by the Cincinnati Catering company and I can tell you it has been a move for the better. Instead of one reception hall room and one bar, it is two huge reception halls. Space is definitely a main factor but there is more to it than that. I judge a place by how the staff treats DJ's and photographers as well as the guest. No one is neglected at Briarwood. Brad, the GM, even helped me get my banner to stay on my table when he saw that I was struggling with that project. Little things like that do not happen at the Madison or any other McHales owned reception hall. They were very organized in getting the guest through the buffet line and even have a projector in house to play video presentations. I can assure that you will not go wrong in booking your event at the Briarwood. Call Brad today to reserve the hall.
